Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA)

is a computational method that determines whether an a priori defined set of genes shows statistically significant, concordant differences between two biological states (e.g. phenotypes).

[@genomicsgurusHOWPERFORMGSEA2020]

Identifies set of genes that are enriched in a particular dataset when compared to control. Not only it considers, subset of genes with significant changes in gene expression it also consider the changes in gene expression of all dataset.
